As part of GlobalMET’s efforts to interact with leading decision makers from different parts of the maritime sector, GlobalMET Chairman Capt. Pradeep Chawla (Managing Director - Group QHSE & Training, Anglo Eastern Ship Management) met with Dr. Malini V. Shankar (Vice Chancellor, Indian Maritime University (IMU), IAS (Retd.)), Mr. John Ramage (Ex Chief operating officer, International Registries, Inc (IRI) and its affiliates, who provide administrative and technical support to the Republic of the Marshall Islands Registry (RMI)) and Capt Shivanand Halbe (CEO, Maritime Association of Shipowners Shipmanagers and Agents (MASSA)) in Mumbai, India. They discussed current issues facing shipping and ways in which maritime education and training can be improved to address these issues.
